We Are Pet Friendly
Our fertilizer is safe, but occasionally we need to apply pest controls. We never use anything stronger than a label recommendation. Whenever possible, we use biological or natural pest controls like bacillus or neemoil. We recommend you keep pets inside for two hours after treatment till spray dries. This insures best application and health for your lawn and pet. If you prefer, we will call the day before we come out to make you aware for your convenience. Let us know if you would like to become a call-ahead customer.
Tips to help your lawn recover and be resistance to dog damage:
Dog spots are due to excess nitrogen in urine. To help repair spots apply the following tonic to the dog spot. 1 pint of baby shampoo, 1 pint of hydrogen peroxide, 1 gallon of water. Mix well and pour on spot. Once nitrogen is neutralized then you may reseed the area. Perennial rye grass and fescue type grasses are more pet tolerant than Kentucky blue grass. Composting and gypsum will make your lawn more resistant to the damages of pet urine. Watering the area can dilute the damage.
